Sentinel node imaging and biopsy have become standard procedures for staging early breast cancer. Positive sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy necessitates the need for axillary lymph node dissection (ALND). Failure to visualize a sentinel lymph node in recurrent breast cancer after treatment by surgery, chemotherapy, and high-dose postoperative radiation therapy is almost the case in every patient. The reason for failure to visualize the sentinel node is the fibrosis that follows high-dose radiotherapy and blocks the lymphatics preventing spread of the tumor cells to the lymph nodes. Alternative pathways for the drainage of lymph from the breast are developed in these patients. We have previously reported on the alternative pathways of lymphatics to the contralateral axilla, supraclavicular area, and also reported on the development of intramammary lymph nodes. In this report, we are presenting another alternative pathway of lymphatics to the region of the epigastrium below the lower end of the sternum.

Objective: We sought to determine the cost-effectiveness (CE) of lymph node dissection (LND) at the time of hysterectomy for endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN).
Methods: A decision analytic model was created to evaluate the strategies of routine full LND, sentinel lymph node dissection (SNLD), SNLD without advancing to full LND in the event of non-mapping, and full LND based on Mayo Criteria, versus no LND. Patients in the no LND group and those in the SLND group without advancement to full LND in the event of non-mapping who were found to have EC on final pathology and suspicious post-operative imaging underwent full LND.

Objective: Treatment approaches for endometrial cancer became more personalized in the last decade, mainly due to two key advancements - sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping and molecular classification. However, their prognostic interaction remains relatively unexplored.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients with endometrial cancer, who underwent surgical treatment including SLN mapping at the Bern University Hospital, Switzerland.

Objectives: To assess the usefulness of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in patients with early-stage oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).
Materials And Methods: Seventy-five patients (mean age 62 years) diagnosed with cT1-2 N0 underwent SLNB with Tc, lymphoscintigraphy/SPECT-CT, and gamma probe detection with intraoperative histological examination of the resected sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs). Elective neck dissection was performed during the same surgical procedure of primary tumor resection when malignant deposits were detected microscopically.

Background: There is compelling evidence that the incidence of melanoma in cigarette smokers is substantially lower than in non-smokers. However, the risks of both recurrence and death appear to be higher in smokers if melanoma does develop. The magnitude of these increased risks is poorly documented.

Intro: Breast cancer is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Accurate sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping is crucial for staging and treatment planning in early-stage breast cancer. Indocyanine green (ICG) has emerged as a promising agent for fluorescence imaging in SLN mapping.
