Background: Hemodialysis vascular access predisposes patients to exit-site infections (ESIs) and bloodstream infections (BSIs), resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. The objective was to characterize hemodialysis catheter-related (CR) ESIs and BSIs while considering potential factors associated with infection.
Methods: The study period was selected to coincide with new CR-infection prevention measures at the midpoint.

Background: Laryngotracheal invasion occurs in a subset of patients with well-differentiated thyroid cancer (WDTC) and is associated with a poor prognosis. We aimed to analyze patterns and predictors/outcomes related to this high-risk manifestation.
Methods: This population-based analysis utilized the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) registry (2000 to 2015) to identify WDTC patients.

Atmospheric halogens, including fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), and iodine(I), significantly impact atmospheric chemistry and climate change. Containing all types of halogens, coal fired power plants (CFPPs) are among the major anthropogenic sources of atmospheric halogens. However, comprehensive estimates of halogen emissions from CFPPs in China remain limited, despite significant advancements in scale and pollution control.

Background/objectives: Pediatric populations with well-differentiated thyroid cancer typically have favorable prognoses. However, the role of radioactive iodine (RAI) ablation in these patients remains uncertain. This investigation evaluates the national trends, therapeutic practices, and the impact of RAI on clinical outcomes.

Methane emissions from ruminant digestion contribute significantly to global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Members of the phylum Rhodophyta (red algae), particularly Asparagopsis sp., have shown promising results in reducing methane emissions in ruminants, due to their high content of halogenated methane analog compounds.
