Tumor organoids have emerged as powerful tools for in vitro cancer research due to their ability to retain the structural and genetic characteristics of tumors. Nevertheless, the absence of a complete tumor microenvironment (TME) limits the broader application of organoid models in immunological studies. Given the critical role of immune cells in tumor initiation and progression, the co-culture model of organoids and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) may provide an effective platform for simulating the interactions between immune and tumor cells in vitro.

Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) has become a dominant economic and health burden worldwide, and the role of autophagy in CAD requires further clarification. In this study, we comprehensively revealed the association between autophagy flux and CAD from multiple hierarchies. We explored autophagy-associated long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and the mechanisms underlying oxidative stress-induced human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs) injury.

Background: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a polygenic, severe metabopsychiatric disorder with poorly understood aetiology. Eight significant loci have been identified by genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-based heritability was estimated to be ~ 11-17, yet causal variants remain elusive. It is therefore important to define the full spectrum of genetic variants in the wider regions surrounding these significantly associated loci.

Background/aim: Imeglimin, a novel oral antidiabetic agent, was approved in 2021 for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Phase III clinical trials demonstrated its safety and efficacy in managing T2DM. However, its safety profile in patients with heart failure has not been thoroughly evaluated in real-world clinical settings.

Introduction: Nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder classically associated with multiple basal cell carcinomas, odontogenic keratocysts and skeletal anomalies. However, its significant phenotypic heterogeneity often delays the diagnosis. Here, we undertake the first comprehensive characterisation of NBCCS and congenital urinary tract anomalies.
