Objectives: To investigate the association of metabolic status newly defined or obesity with asymptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis (aICAS) among populations in rural China.
Methods: The cross-sectional study is based on the Rose asymptomatic IntraCranial Artery Stenosis (RICAS) cohort, which enrolled 2005 participants aged 40 years or older without a history of clinical stroke or transient ischemic attack. Metabolically healthy status (MH) was defined by a newly proposed criterion: (1) systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 130 mmHg and without antihypertensive medication; (2) a waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) below 1.
Introduction: total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a successful surgical intervention for end-stage hip arthritis, however, it is not extent for complications. The risk of instability after THA with conventional design is up to 7% for primary procedures and 5-20% for revisions. The purpose of this study is to document the complications that occur with the double mobility prosthetic design.

Idiopathic transient osteoporosis of the hip (ITOH) is a rare and self-limiting condition of unknown origin, typically responding well to conservative treatment. It is characterized by progressive pain, claudication, and osteoporosis of the femoral head, while the joint line remains preserved. Early clinical and radiological findings can be misinterpreted as aseptic necrosis, infection, or neoplastic processes, making careful exclusion of these conditions essential.

Importance: How epilepsy may promote cardiovascular disease remains poorly understood.
Objective: To estimate the odds of new-onset cardiovascular events (CVEs) over 6 years in older people with vs without epilepsy, exploring how enzyme-inducing antiseizure medications (EIASMs) and traditional cardiovascular risk factors mediate these odds.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This was a prospective cohort study using the comprehensive cohort of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), with 6 years of follow-up (2015-2021, analysis performed in December 2023).

Transient osteoporosis of the hip (TOH), also known as bone marrow edema (BME), is an uncommon condition of unknown etiology. While transient osteoporosis usually affects the hip, it could affect other joints as well. The most common presentation is pain and it has been linked to reduced bone mineral density.
