Inoculation of Phaseolus vulgaris with Azospirillum brasilense Cd promoted root hair formation in seedling roots and significantly increased total and upper nodule numbers at different concentrations of Rhizobium inoculum. In experiments carried out in a hydroponic system, A. brasilense caused an increase in the secretion of nod gene-inducing flavonoids, as was observed by nod gene induction assays of root exudates fractionated by high-performance liquid chromatography. Possible mechanisms involved in the influence of A. brasilense on this symbiotic system are discussed.

Colorectal cancer (CRC), one of the diseases posing a threat to global health, according to the latest data, is the third most common cancer globally and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths. The development and refinement of novel structures of small molecular compounds play a crucial role in tumor treatment and overcoming drug resistance. In this study, our objective was to screen and characterize novel compounds for overcoming drug resistance via the B Lymphoma Mo-MLV insertion region 1 (Bmi-1) reporter screen assay.

Methamphetamine is a widely abused drug associated with significant neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration, mainly through the activation of glial cells and neurons in the central nervous system. This study investigates the role of the astrocyte-specific NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing protein 6 (NLRP6) inflammasome in methamphetamine-induced astrocytic pyroptosis and neuroinflammation. Our findings demonstrate that methamphetamine exposure induces NLRP6-dependent pyroptosis, astrocyte activation, and the release of proinflammatory cytokines in mouse primary astrocytes.

NOD-like receptors are significant contributors to the immune response of fish against different types of pathogen invasion. NOD1 and NOD2 genes of yellow catfish (Tachysurus fulvidraco) were identified and characterized in this study. Yellow catfish NOD1 and NOD2 have open reading frames (ORFs) of 2841 and 2949 bp, encoding 946 and 982 amino acids, respectively.

Aim: Tissue-invasive bacteria have been proposed to be a crucial factor in the etiopathogenesis of periodontitis, with the probable interaction of tissue-invasive bacteria with the innate immune response through inflammasomes, perpetuating periodontal attachment loss. This study aims to reveal the correlation between such tissue-invasive bacteria in upregulating inflammasomes and pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Materials And Methods: This study recruited a total of 10 patients with stage III/IV and grade C periodontitis based on the bone loss to age ratio.
