0.4% Nitroglycerin ointment is an intra-anal formulation of nitroglycerin (glyceryl trinitrate) indicated for the treatment of chronic anal fissure pain.black triangle Nitroglycerin is a nitric oxide (NO) donor, which reduces the increased anal canal pressure caused by a hypertonic internal anal sphincter, improving anodermal blood flow. A twice-daily 375 mg application of 0.4% nitroglycerin ointment, delivering a daily nitroglycerin dose of 3mg, significantly increased the rate of decrease in mean visual-analogue-scale pain scores, recorded daily, versus placebo (actual vehicle) over the first 3 and 8 weeks of treatment in patients with chronic anal fissure pain participating in randomised double-blind trials. Most recipients of 0.4% nitroglycerin ointment experienced headache, which was transient but severe in 20-25% of patients in randomised double-blind trials; however, compliance was generally good with few study withdrawals. Background/aims: Levator ani syndrome (LAS) is a pathology that is both difficult to diagnose and treat. The effectiveness of current treatments, which are mostly administered with special devices in advanced healthcare centers, is controversial. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of glyceryl trinitrate, which is easily accessible and can be applied by the patient, in the treatment of LAS.

The aim was to explore the effectiveness of enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) therapy in patients with severe angina pectoris/ chronic heart failure symptoms, who were not suitable candidates for invasive treatment. This retrospective study employed a comprehensive methodology that includes individualized treatment, continuous monitoring, and thorough pre- and postprogram evaluations to assess the efficacy of EECP therapy. The standard protocol involved 35 one-hour treatments, with flexibility for extensions based on therapeutic progress.

Background: This study aims to analyze the efficacy of metformin on carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) and flow-mediated dilation (FMD) for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Methods: A literature search of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from inception to December 2023 was conducted. Then, after studies selection and data extraction, the mean difference (MD) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to evaluate metformin efficacy in CIMT and FMD for PCOS patients.
