In many differential diagnoses, the general practitioner must also give consideration to gynecological-obstetric aspects. Thus, for example, when a patient presents with lower abdominal pain, gynecological pathology must always be taken into account. Numerous preparations with differing actions and applications used in contraception or hormone therapy in the post-menopausal woman, require individual counseling by the gynecologist.
