Objective: Many studies have reported the importance of preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as syphilis and AIDS, in young adults, and it is crucial to compare and analyze impressions of syphilis and AIDS in young adults. Therefore, the present study used a text-mining analysis to compare impressions of syphilis and AIDS in students at a healthcare professional university.

Amidst resurging syphilis infection rates, increasing efforts are being made towards development of a syphilis vaccine. This study aims to identify barriers and facilitators of syphilis vaccine trial participation among priority groups for early phase studies. We conducted interviews with English-speaking individuals ≥ 18 years old recruited from an infectious disease clinic, a sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing site, an online research bulletin board, and HIV community advisory boards in North Carolina from April 2021 - June 2022.

Syphilis, caused by Treponema pallidum, can mimic infections like chickenpox and mpox, especially in patients with HIV, making diagnosis challenging. This case involved a 30-year-old HIV-positive man who presented with fever, sore throat, and widespread rash. He was initially suspected to have a viral illness and was therefore treated with acyclovir.

Purpose: To report a rare case of systemic lymphoma causing a birdshot-like chorioretinopathy (BSCR) in a histocompatibility leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A29 negative patient.
Methods: A 58-year-old man presented with a one year history of blurry vision and intermittent floaters. He had evidence of bilateral choroidal birdshot-like lesions which appeared atrophic without any vitritis.

Background: The present study was conducted from 2021 to 2023 to analyze the clinical and laboratory characteristics of neurosyphilis and determine the risk factors associated with this condition.
Methods: A total of 400 patients were enrolled, including 100 individuals diagnosed with neurosyphilis, 100 without neurosyphilis, 100 with latent syphilis, and 100 healthy control subjects. Comparative analysis methods, serum VDRL titration, and correlation analysis were employed during the study.
