A patient who had metastasis from a focus of invasive carcinoma confined to the head of an otherwise benign pedunculated adenomatous polyp of the sigmoid colon is described. That only 20 such cases have been reported previously attests to the rarity of this phenomenon. Because the morbidity and mortality of radical surgery far outweigh the liklihood of metastasis from such foci of invasive carcinoma in pedunculated adenomatous colonic polyps, local removal is recommended.

Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC) is a tumor suppressor gene expressed throughout the body. APC mutations increase the risk of malignancy and are often characterized by syndromes that encompass a spectrum of neoplastic manifestations, such as familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). We present a rare case of palatal peripheral nerve sheath tumor in the context of APC gene mutation.

Background: Submucosal pseudoinvasion and squamous metaplasia (SM) are incidental and special morphological findings in colorectal adenomas, and both can mimic invasive carcinoma. The coexistence of these two findings further increases the risk of misdiagnosis, posing a great diagnostic challenge to pathologists. From 1979 to 2022, only 8 cases have been reported, which was extremely rare.

Background And Aims: Conventional hot snare endoscopic mucosal resection (H-EMR) is effective for the management of large (≥20 mm) non-pedunculated colon polyps (LNPCPs) however, electrocautery-related complications may incur significant morbidity. With a superior safety profile, cold snare EMR (C-EMR) of LNPCPs is an attractive alternative however evidence is lacking. We conducted a randomised trial to compare the efficacy and safety of C-EMR to H-EMR.

Background: Gastric hamartomatous inverted polyps (GHIPs) are not well characterized and remain diagnostically challenging due to rarity. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the clinicopathologic and endoscopic characteristics of patients with GHIP.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed clinicopathologic and endoscopic features of ten patients with GHIP who were admitted to Beijing Friendship Hospital from March 2013 to July 2022.
