Doxorubicin (DOX) is a powerful antineoplastic FDA-approved anthracycline-derived antibiotic and is considered as the most suitable intervention for solid tumors and hematological cancers therapy. However, its therapeutic application is highly limited due to acute and chronic renal, hematological and testicular toxicity. Oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation and apoptosis in germ cells as well as low sperm count, motility and disturbing steroidogenesis are the principal machineries of DOX-induced testicular toxicity.

Testicular germ cell tumour (TGCT) is a malignancy with known inherited risk factors, affecting young men. We have previously identified several hundred differentially abundant circulating RNAs in pre-diagnostic serum from TGCT cases compared to healthy controls. In this study, we performed Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) on mRNA and miRNA data from these samples.

Background: Ovarian mature teratoma represents the most common benign neoplasm among pediatric germ cell tumors. This study reports the prevalence and characteristics of familial forms identified in a single center over 22 years in order to better understand possible familial predispositions to ovarian teratoma.
Methods: The records of all patients who were surgically treated for ovarian teratoma between 2000 and 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.

Mutations in the mitochondrial (mt) genome contribute to metabolic dysfunction and their accumulation relates to disease progression and resistance development in cancer cells. This study explores the mutational status of the mt genome of cisplatin-resistant -sensitive testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) cells and explores its association with their respiration parameters, expression of respiratory genes, and preferences for metabolic pathways to reveal new markers of therapy resistance in TGCTs.
