Unified clinico-roentgenological approaches were used to study pain, fixation and morphological components and to follow the course of vertebral syndrome of various etiologies in 180 patients. The account of qualitative and quantitative aspects of the characteristic patterns and dissociations of the components under investigation ensured an earlier differential diagnosis of dystrophic, inflammatory, traumatic, oncogenic and viscerogenic pathology of vertebral column.
