Objective: To discuss the relationship between the stenosed spaces of ostiomeatal complex (OMC) and chronic sinusitis, and the relative factors causing the stenosed spaces.

Method: Having nasal obstructing, discharging, headache and other clinical symptoms, 94 patients (179 sides of nasal cavity and sinus) were examined with coronal and high resolution CT scanning. The CT manifestations of the stenosed spaces and the anatomic variations of OMC were comparatively analyzed between the inflammatory sinuses and the normal ones.

Result: The incidence of the stenosed spaces was difference between the inflammatory sinuses and the normal ones and there was significant statistically (P < 0.01). But, the incidence of the anatomic variations was not (P > 0.05).

Conclusion: A significant correlation exists between the stenosed spaces of OMC and chronic sinusitis. It is helpful to the functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) to understand various kinds of the stenosed space of OMC with sinusitis.

Coronary artery stenosis is characterized by the obstruction or narrowing of coronary arteries, impairing blood flow to the cardiac muscle. Cardiovascular diseases rank among the leading global causes of death. Understanding the mechanisms, risk factors, and impacts of coronary artery stenosis (CAD) is essential for developing effective strategies for prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment, aiming to enhance cardiovascular health and reduce adverse consequences associated with this condition.

Azygos Vein Stenosis in Frontotemporal Dementia Sagging Brain Syndrome.

Ataxia Center, Cognitive Behavioral Neurology Unit, Laboratory for Neuroanatomy and Cerebellar Neurobiology, Department of Neurology (J.D.S., Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts.

Background And Purpose: Symptoms indistinguishable from behavioral-variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) can develop in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension associated with severe brain sagging. An underlying spinal CSF leak can be identified in only a minority of these patients and the success rate of nondirected treatments, such as epidural blood patching and dural reduction surgery, is low. The disability associated with bvFTD sagging brain syndrome is high and, because of the importance of the venous system in the pathophysiology of CSF leaks in general, we have investigated the systemic venous circulation in those patients with recalcitrant symptoms.

Intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) and intracranial aneurysms are prevalent conditions in the cerebrovascular system. ICAS causes a narrowing of the arterial lumen, thereby restricting blood flow, while aneurysms involve the ballooning of blood vessels. Both conditions can lead to severe outcomes, such as stroke or vessel rupture, which can be fatal.

A case of redo pyeloplasty using robot-assisted retroperitoneoscopic pyeloplasty (RARP) for failed primary laparoscopic pyeloplasty (LP) for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) is reported. A 12-year-old boy had LP elsewhere. He was referred for management of persistent left hydronephrosis, but was managed conservatively due to minimal symptoms and stable radioisotopic renography.

Purpose: Computational simulation of phase-contrast MRI (PC-MRI) is an attractive way to physically interpret properties and errors in MRI-reconstructed flow velocity fields. Recent studies have developed PC-MRI simulators that solve the Bloch equation, with the magnetization transport being modeled using a Lagrangian approach. Because this method expresses the magnetization as spatial distribution of particles, influences of particle densities and their spatial uniformities on numerical accuracy are well known.
