Clove oil obtained from Syzygium aromaticum (L.) is traditionally employed to treat inflammation associated with rheumatism, gastric disorders, and as an analgesic. Chemo-herbal combinations are known to have potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, while mitigating the drug related side effects.

Background: Parkinson's disease is a hypokinetic disorder characterized by selective loss of dopaminergic in substantia nigra pars compacta (SNPc) region of mid-brain. Dopaminergic degeneration of neurons is considered to be due to oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, neurons mitochondrial dysfunction and glutamate excitotoxicity etc. Inosine a purine nucleoside has been reported to produce anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuromodulatory actions in previous studies.

Progranulin is a secreted pro-protein that is necessary for maintaining lysosomal function and exerts anti-inflammatory and neurotrophic effects in the brain. Loss-of-function GRN mutations, most of which cause progranulin haploinsufficiency, are a major autosomal dominant cause of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Other GRN variants are associated with risk for FTD, Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease.

Statins (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitors) play a vital role in managing and preventing cardiovascular disease, particularly in elderly populations who face elevated risks for atherosclerosis and related conditions. This review delves into the mechanisms of statin action, emphasizing their impact on low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, anti-inflammatory properties, and potential genetic factors influencing efficacy and drug tolerability. Consideration is given to statin intolerance and management strategies, drug interactions, and guidelines for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular events.

Objective: The main objective of this study was to elucidate the effector material basis of Cimicifugae Rhizoma (CR) for the treatment of acute pneumonia (AP) and to explore the potential mechanisms underlying the anti-AP effects of these active components in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation model of lung epithelial cells.
Methods: Chemical components were identified using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-TOF-MS), and a CR component library was subsequently established based on a combination of databases and available literature. Bioinformatics techniques were used to construct "component-target" and "protein-protein interaction (PPI)" networks, and the potential active components and core targets screened according to degree value, followed by molecular docking and in vitro experiments for verification.
