Rate coefficients for the gas-phase reaction of hydroxyl (OH) radicals with dimethyl sulfide (CH(3)SCH(3), DMS) have been determined using a relative rate technique. The experiments were performed under different conditions of temperature (250-299 K) and O(2) partial pressure (approximately 0 Torr O(2)-380 Torr O(2)), at a total pressure of 760 Torr bath gas (N(2) + O(2)), in a 336 l reaction chamber, using long path in situ Fourier transform (FTIR) absorption spectroscopy to monitor the disappearance rates of DMS and the reference compounds (ethene, propene and 2-methylpropene). OH was produced by the photolysis of H(2)O(2). The following Arrhenius expressions adequately describe the rate coefficients as a function of temperature (units are cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)): k = (1.56 +/- 0.20) x 10(-12) exp[(369 +/- 27)/T], for approximately 0 Torr O(2); (1.31 +/- 0.08) x 10(-14) exp[(1910 +/- 69)/T], for 155 Torr O(2); (5.18 +/- 0.71) x 10(-14) exp[(1587 +/- 24)/T], for 380 Torr O(2). The results are compared with previous investigations.

The distribution of fitness effects (DFE) characterizes the range of selection coefficients from which new mutations are sampled, and thus holds a fundamentally important role in evolutionary genomics. To date, DFE inference in primates has been largely restricted to haplorrhines, with limited data availability leaving the other suborder of primates, strepsirrhines, largely under-explored. To advance our understanding of the population genetics of this important taxonomic group, we here map exonic divergence in aye-ayes ( ) - the only extant member of the Daubentoniidae family of the Strepsirrhini suborder.

Background And Purpose: Deep-learning-based automatic segmentation is widely used in radiation oncology to delineate organs-at-risk. Dual-energy CT (DECT) allows the reconstruction of enhanced contrast images that could help with manual and auto-delineation. This paper presents a performance evaluation of a commercial auto-segmentation software on image series generated by a DECT.

Objective: The laparoscopic approach for locally advanced gastric cancer has recently been adopted based on the results of several randomized controlled trials (RCTs). However, findings from RCTs have not been examined at the national level. This study aimed to investigate the external validity of the Korean Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery Study-02 (KLASS-02) trial involving 13 tertiary hospitals, using data from the Korean Gastric Cancer Association (KGCA)-led nationwide survey involving 68 tertiary or general hospitals.

Background: Drug use disorder (DUD) poses a major public health crisis globally, necessitating immediate attention to global trends and future projections to develop effective health policies and interventions. Thus, we aimed to estimate the global trends in DUD mortality rates from 1990 to 2021 and future projections of DUD deaths until 2040 across 73 countries.
Methods: In this time-series analysis and modelling study, we investigated the global trends in DUD mortality rates from 1990 to 2021 using the WHO Mortality Database and forecasted future trends through 2040.

Background: Prepectoral (PP) immediate implant-based breast reconstruction (IBBR) is gaining popularity over the retropectoral (RP) breast reconstruction technique. This study aims to compare complication rates across different body mass index (BMI) groups in patients undergoing PP or RP IBBR.
Methods: A monocentric retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent mastectomy and IBBR from January 2018 to December 2023.
