The availability of specialty healthcare has become an issue of increasing importance. Practices and hospitals must be encouraged to assume the risk and responsibilities of expanding their fields of care. For their part, courts must give heavier weight to that aspect of the public interest in determining how their decision impacts access to specialty healthcare. In short, courts deciding the enforceability of noncompetition agreements must be willing to do something more than count doctors.

To develop a method leveraging hospital-based surveillance to estimate influenza-related hospitalizations by state, age, and month as a means of enhancing current US influenza burden estimation efforts. Using data from the Influenza Hospitalization Surveillance Network (FluSurv-NET), we extrapolated monthly FluSurv-NET hospitalization rates after adjusting for testing practices and diagnostic test sensitivities to non-FluSurv-NET states. We used a Poisson zero-inflated model with an overdispersion parameter within the Bayesian hierarchical framework and accounted for uncertainty and variability between states and across time.

The growing sophistication of tumor molecular profiling has helped to slowly transition oncologic care toward a more personalized approach in different tumor types, including in bladder cancer. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network recommends that all patients with stage IVA and stage IVB urothelial carcinoma have molecular analysis that integrates at least testing to help facilitate the selection of future therapeutic options. Sequencing of tumor-derived tissue is the mainstay to obtain this genomic testing, but as in other cancers, there has been extensive research into the integration of liquid biopsies in longitudinal management.

Background: The prevalence of antibiotic prescribing among total prescriptions, the percentage of combined antibiotic prescribing among prescriptions containing at least one antibiotic, and factors influencing hospital antibiotic prescribing are currently unknown. In this systematic review, we aimed to summarise antibiotic prescribing in hospitals worldwide and identify the associated factors.
Methods: We searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Ovid/Embase, and the Web of Science for articles published between 1 January 2000 and 28 February 2023 that reported antibiotic prescribing in hospitals or the associated factors.

To address this issue, it is first necessary to understand the current levels of knowledge and stigma surrounding HIV, and consequently, HIV Outcomes Italy has created a survey with the aim of assessing these levels.
