Background: The transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) technique, facilitated by the MitraClip device, is a minimally invasive intervention designed for high-risk patients with mitral regurgitation (MR). This study conducts a retrospective analysis of death events associated with MitraClip implantation over a ten-year decade, utilizing data from the FDA's Manufacturer and User Facility Device Experience (MAUDE) database to evaluate trends in safety outcomes.

Methods: A comprehensive search of the publicly accessible MAUDE database was conducted to retrieve reports of deaths and injuries related to MitraClip implantation from October 2013 to September 2023.

Objective: Awake, endoscopic spinal fusion has been utilized as an ultra-minimally invasive surgery technique to accomplish the goals of spinal fixation, fusion, and disc height restoration. While many techniques exist for this approach, this series represents a single institution's experience with a large cohort and the evolution of this method.

Methods: The medical records of a consecutive series of 400 patients treated over a 10-year period were retrospectively reviewed.

Volcano deformation can be detected over timescales from seconds to decades, offering valuable insights for magma dynamics. However, these signals are shaped by the long-term evolution of magmatic systems, a coupling that remains poorly understood. Here we integrate thermal models of crustal-scale magmatism with thermo-mechanical simulations of ground deformation.

Introduction: Patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) experience a 10-year diagnosis delay, on average. Accordingly, time to diagnosis represents one of the greatest unmet needs in HS, which to date has not been adequately addressed. A general lack of awareness about HS in the medical community and a notable heterogeneity in clinical presentation, which is most often confused with cutaneous abscess (CA), forms the basis of poor disease recognition and diagnosis delay.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening systemic hyperinflammatory syndrome, rarely associated with bone marrow failure (BMF). Telomere biology disorders (TBD) are caused by inherited defects in telomerase processes and can have heterogeneous presentations including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, cirrhosis, and BMF. We report a case of a 10-year-old male from Lima, Peru, who presented with HLH as the initial manifestation of a TBD.
