Background: Central nervous system (CNS) cancers are highly lethal and increasingly affect younger populations aged 20-49, posing significant challenges to global healthcare systems. Current research on early-onset CNS cancer trends is limited and outdated, with uncertain impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. This study explores the epidemiology of early-onset CNS cancer and the pandemic's effects.

The mesopores and macropores within porous carbon materials help increase the surface for the depostion of solid-state products, reduce the LiS film thickness, enhance electron and mass transport, and accelerate the reaction kinetics. However, an excessive amount of mesopores and macropores can lead to increased electrolyte consumption, particularly at high sulfur loadings, where excessive electrolyte usage hampers the enhancement of practical energy density in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. A rational pore structure can minimize the amount of electrolyte to fill the pores, thereby reducing electrolyte consumption while achieving rapid reaction kinetics and a high gravimetric energy density.

Background: The prognosis of multiple myeloma involving the central nervous system (CNS-MM) is poor. We report outcomes of CNS-MM treated with CNS-directed radiation therapy (RT).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with CNS-MM treated with CNS-directed RT from 2015 to 2024.

Delivering double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) in shrimp is challenging due to the lack of an effective carrier system. This study optimized chitosan nanoparticles (CNs) from two sources-α-chitosan from shrimp and β-chitosan from squid-to encapsulate antiviral dsRNA for oral administration via shrimp feed. Using response surface methodology (RSM), formulations were refined for encapsulation efficiency, particle size, polydispersity index, and zeta potential.

In this work, two types of chemical vapor deposition (CVD)-derived porous supporting materials consisting of CNTs-decorated diatomite (CNT/DE) and CNT sponges (CNS) were developed to prepare novel form-stable phase-change material (PCM) composites by impregnation, using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the PCM. The CNT/DE support matrix showed highly entangled nanotubes (the weight ratio of CNTs to DE was 0.16) over and inside the porous structure of diatomite, giving the hybrid matrix an electrical response.
