Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of electroacupuncture (EA) on blood glucose levels, gut microbiota, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in a rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Methods: Forty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned to five groups (n = 8/group) using a random number table: normal control, T2DM model, electroacupuncture (EA), EA + antibiotics (EA + A), and antibiotics (A). The normal rats received a standard diet and saline gavage, while the other groups were fed a high-fat diet and emulsion.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is highly malignant and grows rapidly, and there is currently a lack of effective treatments. Metabolism provides the basis for the occurrence and development of GBM. Pyruvate dehydrogenase A1 (PDHA1) is a key component in both the tricarboxylic acid cycle and glycolysis, playing an important role in the metabolic processes related to cancer, but its role in GBM remains unclear.

2'-Fucosyllactose (2'-FL) is the most abundant human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) and has been approved to be commercially added to infant formula. Microbial synthesis from exogenous lactose via metabolic engineering is currently the major approach to production of 2'-FL. Replacement of lactose with cheaper sugars such as glucose and sucrose has been studied to reduce the production costs.

capsular polysaccharide (CPS) is a crucial virulence factor for this pathogenic bacterium and is partially under transcriptional control. In this study, we used electrophoretic mobility shift assays and DNA enzyme footprinting to identified the hypothetical protein SPD_0410 as a negative regulator of locus. Our results showed that the D39Δ mutant strain exhibited significantly elevated CPS levels compared to the parental strain D39s.

This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between the TyG index and both obesity indicators and hypertension among American adults. Data were drawn from 4,813 adults in the 2013-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Multivariate logistic regression models indicated significant associations between TyG and obesity-related indices with hypertension.
