Percutaneous thermal ablation of hepatic tumors continues to play an integral role in the treatment of early-stage primary or secondary hepatic malignancies. Interventional radiologists must be familiar with potential complications of this procedure, associated risk factors, and methods for prevention. The authors report a devastating case of septic shock and death following percutaneous microwave ablation of a solitary hepatocellular carcinoma in a liver transplant patient with a bilioenteric anastomosis (BEA).

The objective of our study was to evaluate image quality and reader confidence in MR cholangiography of bile ducts using conventional T2-weighted MR cholangiography alone in comparison with T2-weighted MR cholangiography and gadoxetate disodium-enhanced MR cholangiography in a series of patients with biliary-enteric anastomosis (BEA). Fifty patients with BEA and clinically and sonographically suspected complications underwent 1.5-T MRI.

Objective: To evaluate the quality of the iliopsoas muscle complex after pertrochanteric femoral fracture, using MRI; to propose an anatomy-based evaluation of the iliopsoas muscle complex; and to determine the inter-reader reliability of two classifications of fatty muscle degeneration.
Materials And Methods: We included adult patients with a displaced lesser trochanter following pertrochanteric femoral fracture. Muscle quality was evaluated using the Goutallier and Slabaugh classifications at three levels (L4/L5, L5/S1, and the anterior inferior iliac spine).
