Respiratory infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa are a major health problem globally. Current treatment for P. aeruginosa infections relies solely on antibiotics, but the rise of antibiotic-resistant strains necessitates an urgent need for a protective vaccine.

Background: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the ventral capsule/ventral striatum (VC/VS) represents a promising therapy for treatment-refractory patients with substance-use disorders. We previously found that low-frequency (LF) DBS aimed to the VC/VS during extinction training strengthens the extinction memory for morphine seeking under a partial extinction protocol.
Objectives/hypothesis: In this study, animals were tested in a full extinction protocol to determine whether LF-DBS applied during extinction facilitates extinction while preventing drug reinstatement, and study the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of LF-DBS, METHODS/RESULTS: We used a full extinction CPP paradigm combined with LF-DBS to assess behavior.

We have investigated the hippocampal connectivity of the marmoset presubiculum (PreS) and reported that major connections of PreS in the rat were conserved in the marmoset. Moreover, our results indicated the presence of several additional projections that were almost absent in the rat brain, but abundant in the marmoset, such as direct projections from CA1 to PreS. However, little is known about the connectivity between the frontal brain regions and PreS or hippocampal formation.

Introduction: Innate immune training is a metabolic, functional, and epigenetic long-term reprogramming of innate cells triggered by different stimuli. This imprinting also reaches hematopoietic precursors in the bone marrow to sustain a memory-like phenotype. Dendritic cells (DCs) can exhibit memory-like responses, enhanced upon subsequent exposure to a pathogen; however, whether this imprinting is lineage and stimulus-restricted is still being determined.

At the heart of the prefrontal network is the mediodorsal (MD) thalamus. Despite the importance of MD in a broad range of behaviors and neuropsychiatric disorders, little is known about the physiology of neurons in MD. We injected the retrograde tracer cholera toxin subunit B (CTB) into the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) of adult wild-type mice.
