Abstract: Local anesthetics as a part of intraarticular therapies (IATs) are widely used for treating knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Whether substitution of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) for lidocaine is safe and effective in reducing incidence of injection-emergent adverse events after IATs remains unclear.
Methods: We recruited outpatients who had a clinical diagnosis of KOA and decided to receive IATs from November 2023 to April 2024.
The use of a rapid, easy-to-use intervention could improve needle-related procedural pain management practices in the context of the Emergency Department (ED). As such, the Buzzy device seems to be a promising alternative to topical anesthetics. The aim of this study was to determine if a cold vibrating device was non-inferior to a topical anesthetic cream for pain management in children undergoing needle-related procedures in the ED.

Purpose: Surgical treatments for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) include posterior spinal fusion (PSF) and vertebral body tethering (VBT), but there is limited data that compares pain between these groups. We aimed to compare postoperative pain between these patients through inpatient opioid use and opioid prescriptions post-discharge.
Methods: A retrospective review of patients diagnosed with AIS who underwent PSF or VBT surgery was reviewed to determine LOS, inpatient opioid use, and opioids prescribed post-discharge.

Study Objective: To simulate bupivacaine pharmacokinetics in scenarios of labor epidural analgesia (LEA) extended for intrapartum cesarean delivery (CD) with epidural or intrathecal boluses, followed by transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block with liposomal bupivacaine (LB) for postcesarean analgesia.
Design: Bupivacaine plasma concentrations were simulated using a 2-compartment distribution model fit to previous study data.
Setting: Virtual pharmacokinetic simulations.

Despite standard treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) being surgical resection, cancer recurrence and complications, such as induction of malignant pleural effusion (MPE) and significant postoperative pain, usually result in treatment failure. In this study, an alginate-based hybrid hydrogel (SOG) is developed that can be injected into the resection surface of the lungs during surgery. Briefly, endoplasmic reticulum-modified liposomes (MSLs) pre-loaded with the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) small interfering RNA and lidocaine hydrochloride are encapsulated in SOG.
