Background: Urinary tract stones present significant health risks to pregnant women and their foetuses. However, the specific risk factors contributing to stone formation during pregnancy, particularly within the Chinese population, remain poorly understood. This retrospective survey aimed to identify demographic, clinical, and obstetric risk factors associated with urinary tract stones in pregnant women at a tertiary hospital in China.

Importance: Previous meta-analyses suggest that fluoride exposure is adversely associated with children's IQ scores. An individual's total fluoride exposure comes primarily from fluoride in drinking water, food, and beverages.
Objective: To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of epidemiological studies investigating children's IQ scores and prenatal or postnatal fluoride exposure.

Background: Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) during childhood has been associated with altered growth and adiposity in children. The effects of prenatal exposure to PAHs on developmental programming of growth and adiposity are still unknown.

Melamine, its analogues, and aromatic amines (AAs) were commonly detected in a previous study of pregnant women in the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Cohort. While these chemicals have identified toxicities, little is known about their influences on fetal development. We measured these chemicals in gestational urine samples in 3 ECHO cohort sites to assess associations with birth outcomes (n = 1,231).

Postpartum urinary retention has a wide range of publicized incidences, likely caused by frequent misdiagnosis of this puerperal complication. Especially covert postpartum urinary retention has a high number of missed diagnoses due to the lack of symptoms and the time-extensive diagnostics via ultrasound, leading to no treatment and no appropriate follow-up. To simplify the diagnosis and establish a screening tool we analyzed the application of portable handheld-ultrasound devices (PUD) as used in Point-of-care diagnostics in comparison to established standard ultrasound devices (SUD).
