To date, pagetoid spread-the proliferation of pagetoid cells in intraepidermal lesions, as observed in secondary extramammary Paget's disease-has not been reported in squamous epithelium derived from the extension of head and neck carcinomas. Herein, we report a case of pagetoid squamous cell proliferation associated with a primary intraosseous carcinoma (PIOC) arising in the periapical lesion of the maxilla, a finding not reported previously. A 60-year-old man presented with prostate adenocarcinoma and bilateral pubic bone, ilium bone, and sacral bone metastases.

Objectives: To investigate how studies determine the sample size when developing radiomics prediction models for binary outcomes, and whether the sample size meets the estimates obtained by using established criteria.

Methods: We identified radiomics studies that were published from 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 in seven leading peer-reviewed radiological journals. We reviewed the sample size justification methods, and actual sample size used.

Department of Nephrology, Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha 410011.

Objectives: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common primary glomerular disease in China, but its pathogenesis remains unclear. This study aims to explore the regulatory role of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway in autophagy and mesangial proliferation during renal injury in IgA.

Methods: The activity of mTOR and autophagy was evaluated in kidney samples from IgAN patients and in an IgAN mouse model induced by oral bovine serum albumin and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) injection.
