The outcomes of cardiac surgery in patients with hematologic disorders are significantly worse. However, details of the clinical course of each hematologic disease remain unclear. Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) presents with progressive pancytopenia that has the risk of infection, hemorrhage, and transformation to acute myelogenous leukemia.

Upper para-aortic lymph node dissection (PALND) is one of the most challenging gynecologic robotic procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the oncologic and operative outcomes of robotic staging surgery, including upper PALND, using low pelvic port placement (LP3) in 22 patients with high-risk endometrial cancer. High-risk was defined as patients who showed deep myometrial invasion with grade III, cervical involvement, or high-risk histology.

Background: The standard for robotic para-aortic lymphadenectomy has not been fully established. Para-aortic lymphadenectomy performed by sharing the same ports with pelvic procedures, a procedure known as dual-docking surgery, can be performed using the latest robotic system. We prospectively examined the ability of standardized dual-docking robotic surgery in endometrial cancer patients.

Certain somatic mutations provide a fitness advantage to hematopoietic stem cells and lead to clonal expansion of mutant blood cells, known as clonal hematopoiesis (CH). Among the most common CH mutations, ASXL1 mutations pose the highest risk for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), yet the mechanisms by which they contribute to CVDs are unclear. Here we show that hematopoietic cells harboring C-terminally truncated ASXL1 mutant (ASXL1-MT) accelerate the development of atherosclerosis in Ldlr mice.

Background: To date, it has been assumed that acute seizures which arise in the context of sudden, spontaneous, atraumatic, acute, arterial dissections (SAAADs) are downstream consequences of the dissections driven by syncope or focal brain lesions (FBLs). As this subject has not been formally investigated, likely due to its rarity, we reviewed published case reports (CRs) to examine the veracity of this assumption.
Methods: We included CR describing patients diagnosed with both acute seizures and arterial dissections in order to ascertain the temporal sequence between acute seizures and typical SAAAD symptoms.
