Objective: To observe the anti-tumor effect of moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cones on Hepa1-6 liver cancer bearing (HLCB) mice and its regulatory mechanism on cell apoptosis.
Methods: A total of 40 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control, moxibustion, cyclophosphamide (CTX) and moxibustion+CTX groups, with 10 mice in each group. The HLCB model was established by subcutaneous inoculation of Hepa1-6 cancer cells into the right armpit.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone in the treatment of depression in college students, and explore its effect on serum 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT).
Methods: Sixty undergraduates with depression were divided into acupuncture-moxibustion group and medication group according to the random number table, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in acupuncture-moxibustion group received acupuncture and moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cone at acupoints on Shaoyang meridian according to the method of "rotating the pivot and regulating the qi", one time every other day.

Hyperlipidemia (HLP) is a disorder with disturbed lipid metabolism. HLP is a major risk factor in cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, and coronary heart disease. This study focuses on understanding the effects of moxibustion with a seed-sized moxa cone on HLP and the potential metabolic pathways associated with HLP.

Objective: To compare the therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus moxibustion and simple acupuncture in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) of -deficiency syndrome.
Methods: Fifty-eight KOA patients with yang-deficiency syndrome were chosen and randomly divided into acupuncture plus moxibustion group (=30) and acupuncture group (=28). Neixiyan (EX-LE 4), Dubi (ST 35), Liangqiu (ST 34), Heding (EX-LE 2), Xuehai (SP 10), Yanglingquan (GB 34) on the affected side of the body were punctured with filiform needles or/and stimulated with moxibustion using seed-sized moxa cones.

Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion (Moxi) preconditioning with seed-sized moxa cones on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI/RI) at different stages, and to analyze the correlation between this effect and the expression of autophagy related protein Beclin 1.
Methods: This study contains two parts: 1) changes of myocardial pathological injury and percentages of myocardial infarcted area at different time-points after modeling and Moxi intervention, and 2) effect of Moxi on contents of serum cardiac troponin T(cTnT) and expression of myocardial Bcl-2, Bax and Beclin 1 proteins. In the first part, 42 SD rats were randomly divided into model group, 1 day (d) Moxi group, 2 d Moxi group, 3 d Moxi group,4 d Moxi group, 5 d Moxi group and 7 d Moxi group.
