Two-dimensional (2D) vibrational spectroscopy is a powerful means of investigating the structure and dynamics of complex molecules in condensed phases. However, even in theory, analysis of 2D spectra resulting from complex inter- and intra-molecular motions using only molecular dynamics methods is not easy. This is because molecular motions comprise complex multiple modes and peaks broaden and overlap owing to various relaxation processes and inhomogeneous broadening.

The quantum-well-like two-dimensional lead-halide perovskites exhibit strongly confined excitons due to the quantum confinement and reduced dielectric screening effect, which feature intriguing excitonic effects. The ionic nature of the perovskite crystal and the "softness" of the lattice induce the complex lattice dynamics. There are still open questions about how the soft lattices decorate the nature of excitons in these hybrid materials.

Improved Conductivity of 2D Perovskite Capping Layer for Realizing High-Performance 3D/2D Heterostructured Hole Transport Layer-Free Perovskite Photovoltaics.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged as low-cost photovoltaic representatives. Constructing three-dimensional (3D)/two-dimensional (2D) perovskite heterostructures has been shown to effectively enhance the efficiency and stability of PSCs. However, further enhancement of device performance is still largely limited by inferior conductivity of the 2D perovskite capping layer and its mismatched energy level with the 3D perovskite layer.

As one of the most promising means to repair diseased tissues, stem cell therapy with immense potential to differentiate into mature specialized cells has been rapidly developed. However, the clinical application of stem-cell-dominated regenerative medicine was heavily hindered by the loss of pluripotency during the long-term in vitro expansion. Here, a composite three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based biomaterial, denoted as GO-Por-CMP@CaP, with hierarchical pore structure (micro- to macropore), was developed to guide the directional differentiation of human umbilical cord MSCs (hucMSCs) into osteoblasts.

The impact of side and top arm techniques during the backstroke breakout phase on 15-meter swimming performance.

PeerJ

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Sport Training of General Administration of Sport of China, Haidian, Beijing, China.

Background: Research on the swimming starts and turns in professional swimming has become increasingly refined. The breakout phase is a crucial transition from point between underwater and above-water movements. The side arm technique is commonly used during the backstroke breakout phase.
