We present determinations of the -meson decay constant f(B) and f(B)(s)/f(B) using the MILC Collaboration unquenched gauge configurations, which include three flavors of light sea quarks. The mass of one of the sea quarks is kept around the strange quark mass, and we explore a range in masses for the two lighter sea quarks down to m(s)/8. The heavy quark is simulated using nonrelativistic QCD, and both the valence and sea light quarks are represented by the highly improved (AsqTad) staggered quark action. The good chiral properties of the latter action allow for a more accurate chiral extrapolation to physical up and down quarks than has been possible in the past. We find f(B)=216(9)(19)(4)(6) MeV and f(B)(s)/f(B)=1.20(3)(1).

Time trends and regional differences of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and -furans (PCDD/Fs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs), DDTs, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenylethers (BDEs) were studied in unhatched osprey eggs collected by bird ringers in 1972-2017 from four areas in Finland. Two study areas were from Baltic Sea, Northern Quark and Finnish Archipelago Sea, while the two others were inland lake areas, eutrophicated Lake Vanajanselkä affected by industrial emissions, and Pristine SW Lake Area. The highest concentrations of most compound groups were in Lake Vanajanselkä consistent with high emissions, the predominance of bream as a prey, and higher concentrations in bream compared to other prey fish.

We perform the first global QCD analysis of pion valence, sea quark, and gluon distributions within a Bayesian Monte Carlo framework with threshold resummation on Drell-Yan cross sections at next-to-leading log accuracy. Exploring various treatments of resummation, we find that the large-x asymptotics of the valence quark distribution ∼(1-x)^{β_{v}} can differ significantly, with β_{v} ranging from ≈1 to >2.5 at the input scale.

Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) are a cosmopolitan species and perform long annual migrations between low-latitude breeding areas and high-latitude feeding areas. Their breeding populations appear to be spatially and genetically segregated due to long-term, maternally inherited fidelity to natal breeding areas. In the Southern Hemisphere, some humpback whale breeding populations mix in Southern Ocean waters in summer, but very little movement between Pacific and Atlantic waters has been identified to date, suggesting these waters constituted an oceanic boundary between genetically distinct populations.

We perform the global analysis of polarized semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS), pion-induced polarized Drell-Yan (DY) process, and W^{±}/Z boson production data and extract the Sivers function for u, d, s and for sea quarks. We use the framework of transverse momentum dependent factorization at next-to-next-to-next-to leading order (N^{3}LO) accuracy. The Qiu-Sterman function is determined in a model independent way from the extracted Sivers function.
