Many complex networks have an underlying modular structure, i.e., structural subunits (communities or clusters) characterized by highly interconnected nodes. The modularity has been introduced as a measure to assess the quality of clusterizations. has a global view, while in many real-world networks clusters are linked mainly locally among each other (local cluster connectivity). Here we introduce a measure of localized modularity , which reflects local cluster structure. Optimization of and on the clusterization of two biological networks shows that the localized modularity identifies more cohesive clusters, yielding a complementary view of higher granularity.

Background: The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) sparked significant health concerns worldwide, prompting policy makers and health care experts to implement nonpharmaceutical public health interventions, such as stay-at-home orders and mask mandates, to slow the spread of the virus. While these interventions proved essential in controlling transmission, they also caused substantial economic and societal costs and should therefore be used strategically, particularly when disease activity is on the rise. In this context, geosocial media posts (posts with an explicit georeference) have been shown to provide a promising tool for anticipating moments of potential health care crises.

Pulmovermis cyanovitellosus Coil and Kuntz, 1960 is a species of hemiurid trematode that localizes in the lung of sea snakes, an unusual trait for this group of parasites. Recent molecular phylogenetic studies based on 28S rRNA gene sequences have shown that this species is closely related to members of the genus Lecithochirium Lühe, 1901. This finding is unexpected given that Pulmovermis Coil and Kuntz, 1960 and Lecithochirium are currently classified in different subfamilies of Hemiuridae (Pulmoverminae Sandars, 1961 vs.

Molecular dynamics simulations of the structure and dynamics in mixtures of ionic liquids and alcohols.

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Nano and Bio Science and Technology, Persian Gulf University, Bushehr 75168, Iran.

Molecular dynamics simulations were conducted on mixtures of ionic liquids (ILs) and alcohols, specifically methanol, ethanol, and 1-propanol. Two different ILs, [Mmim][MeSO] and [Bmim][MeSO], were used with varying alcohol mole fractions to investigate the impact of alkyl chain length of cations, alcohol types, and alcohol concentrations on different structural and dynamic properties. Unique characteristics of the ILs were observed due to the varying polarity of solvents and the creation of diverse local environments surrounding the ILs.

Dopamine can play opposing physiological roles depending on the receptor subtype. In the fruit fly , and encode the D- and D-like receptors, respectively, and are reported to oppositely regulate intracellular cAMP levels. Here, we profiled the expression and subcellular localization of endogenous Dop1R1 and Dop2R in specific cell types in the mushroom body circuit.

Promotion of physical activity by health professionals can increase physical activity participation among patients, however, implementing physical activity promotion within hospital systems is lacking. The Promotion of Physical Activity by Health Professionals (PROMOTE-PA) study is a hybrid type I effectiveness-implementation cluster randomised controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of support for physical activity promotion by health professionals on physical activity participation of patients. Health professionals delivering outpatient healthcare services within four local health districts and one specialty health network in New South Wales, Australia will be included.
