Cadmium (Cd) pollution is an important threat to agricultural production globally. Silicon (Si) and silicon nanoparticles (Si NPs) can mitigate Cd stress in plants. However, the mechanisms underlying the impacts of Si and Si NPs on Cd resistance, particularly in low-Si accumulators, remain inadequately understood.

Advances in the research of nanoparticles (NPs) with controlled charge and size are driven by their potential application in the development of novel technologies and innovative therapeutics. This work reports the synthesis, characterization, and comprehensive biological evaluation of AgNPs functionalized by ,,-trimethyl-(11-mercaptoundecyl) ammonium chloride (TMA) and trisodium citrate (TSC). The prepared AgNPs were well characterized in terms of their morphological, spectroscopic and functional properties and biological activities.

For the photocatalytic test, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were prepared using trisodium citrate dehydrate (TCD), following which they were combined on the surface of zinc oxide (ZnO) to prepare ZnO decorated with uniform AuNPs (ZnO/AuNP) photocatalysts. The photocatalytic performance with the ZnO/AuNP was estimated through the rhodamine B (RB) dye degradation under solar irradiation. ZnO/AuNP-30 showed the greatest photocatalytic performance, achieving dye degradation efficiency up to 78.

Because, the lack of adequate data on the toxicity of this compound, more toxicological studies on this new compound are necessary. Therefore the study aimed to evaluate the adverse effects of this new insecticide and in comparison with the traditional insecticide Deltamethrin (DM).

Background: Citrate is used as a regional anticoagulant for continuous veno-venous haemofiltration and provides 0.59 kcal/mmol. Previous studies hypothesised continuous veno-venous haemofiltration can provide 200-1300 kcal/day dependent on the anticoagulant and replacement solutions used.
