Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the diagnostic performance of novel automated red cell parameters for estimating bone marrow iron stores.
Methods: The study was a retrospective single-centre study based on data from an automated haematology analyser and results of bone marrow iron staining. Red cell parameters were measured on a Sysmex XN-series haematology analyser.

Background: Bioresorbable materials are compounds that decompose in physiological mediums both in vitro and in vivo and are used as an alternative to temporary implants in injured tissues. The aim of this study was to analyze the morphology and cytochemistry of cells grown on fibrous poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) scaffolds and to measure cell metabolism parameters by biochemical analysis of the conditioned culture medium from cells grown on the scaffolds.
Methods: Fibrous PCL scaffolds were used under the following conditions: unaligned fibers (NA), fibers aligned at 150 rpm (A150), and fibers aligned at 300 rpm (A300).

Introduction: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a debilitating neuromuscular disorder caused by biallelic deletion of the SMN1 gene. Nusinersen, an antisense oligonucleotide delivered intrathecally, binds to the pre-mRNA of SMN1's pseudogene, SMN2, to prevent exon skipping and produce functional SMN protein to compensate for the deficiency caused by SMN1 deletion.
Case Presentation: We reviewed 15 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cytology specimens from 8 patients receiving nusinersen for SMA.
