Background: Gastrointestinal symptoms of acute opioid withdrawal are distressing for patients and are often difficult to manage with conventional therapies. Insufficiently managed opioid withdrawal symptoms may lead patients to leave against medical advice, which can increase their risk of relapse and result in poor outcomes from untreated conditions. We assessed the impact of an erector spinae plane block on the acute gastrointestinal symptoms of opioid withdrawal.

Compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel is a frequent pathology with severe functional impact. An ultrasound-guided technique was developed to preserve structures, diminish scar fibrosis and enable fast return to full activity. Its advantages are safety and low additional cost.

Objective: To explore risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality and to identify its association with the Revised Cardiac Risk Index (RCRI).
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study involving 54,933 patients aged 18 years and above who were surgically treated under general or regional anesthesia in a tertiary hospital in Singapore. Independent risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality were identified by univariate Cox regression analysis.
Continuous local infiltration analgesia is equal to femoral and sciatic nerve block for total knee arthroplasty.

Pain control is crucial for rapid mobilisation and reduces side effects as well as the length of hospital stay. Purpose Of Review: Chronic pain is highly prevalent and involves a complex interaction of sensory, emotional, and cognitive processes, significantly influenced by ambient temperature. Despite advances in pain management, many patients continue to experience inadequate pain relief. This review aims to consolidate and critically evaluate the current evidence on the impact of ambient temperature on chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia (FM), multiple sclerosis (MS), complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and osteoarthritis (OA).
