Background: Increased femoral anteversion (FAV) is crucial in the genesis of anterior knee pain (AKP) and a femoral derotational osteotomy (FDO) has demonstrated good clinical results. It remains unclear at what level of the femur the osteotomy should be performed. Resulting degrees of FAV measured by Murphy's method do not always correspond to the degrees that had been planned after an FDO.

Background: Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE), is one of the most common hip disorders in adolescents, and is treated surgically by performing an Imhäuser osteotomy. The use of 3D printed guides has shown promise in improving the accuracy of the osteotomy. However, misplacement of the guide may limit the improvement.

Purpose: Few studies have assessed trochanteric vascularity despite its implications for bone healing and surgical approaches. This study aimed to assess the regional arterial contributions of the medial femoral circumflex artery (MFCA) versus the lateral femoral circumflex artery (LFCA) to trochanteric vascularity.
Methods: Ten adult human cadaveric pelvises to mid-femur specimens were obtained.

Background and objective Periosteal stripping and periosteal division (PSPD) can help promote the growth of the long bone in children with leg length discrepancy (LLD). We performed PSPD in a cohort of patients when LLD was observed at the time of implant removal surgery after proximal femoral osteotomy for Perthes disease. This study aimed to clarify the efficacy and safety of PSPD for acquired LLD related to Perthes disease.

Background: The optimal treatment method for managing unstable Pauwels III femoral neck fractures remains undetermined. The aim of this study was to compare the biomechanical properties of two types of Femoral Neck Anti-rotation and Support System (FNAS) and a Femoral Neck System (FNS) in unstable Pauwels III femoral neck fractures.
Methods: Eighteen synthetic femoral models were implanted with one of three fixation devices: FNS, FNAS I, or FNAS II.
