Background: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury refers to cell damage that occurs as a consequence of the restoration of blood circulation following reperfusion therapy for cardiovascular diseases, and it is a primary cause of myocardial infarction. The search for nove therapeutic targets in the context of I/R injury is currently a highly active area of research. p70 ribosomal S6 kinase (S6K1) plays an important role in I/R induced necrosis, although the specific mechanisms remain unclear.

Recently, toxicological and epidemiological research has provided strong support for the unfavorable effects of bisphenol-A (BPA, 2,2'-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane) on myogenesis and its underlying mechanisms. Researchers have therefore been looking for new strategies to prevent or mitigate these injurious effects of BPA on the human body. It has been found that plant extracts may act as potential therapeutic agents or functional foods, preventing human diseases caused by BPA.

Background: Ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 (p70S6K1) is a member of the AGC family of serine/threonine kinases which plays a role in various cellular processes, including protein synthesis, cell growth, and survival. Dysregulation of p70S6K1, characterized by its overexpression and/or hyperactivation, has been implicated in numerous human pathologies, particularly in several types of cancer. Therefore, generating active, recombinant p70S6K1 is critical for investigating its role in cancer biology and for developing novel diagnostic or therapeutic approaches.

: Endometrial cancer is strongly associated with obesity, and tumors often harbor mutations in major cancer signaling pathways. To inform the integration of body composition into targeted therapy paradigms, this hypothesis-generating study explores the association between muscle mass, body fat, and tumor proteomics. : We analyzed data from 113 patients in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Cancer Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) cohorts and their corresponding abdominal CT scans.

Objective: Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a remarkable challenge despite considerable advancements in its treatment, due to its high recurrence rate, metastasis, drug resistance, and heterogeneity. Molecular targets that can effectively inhibit CRC growth must be identified to address these challenges. Therefore, we aim to reveal the regulatory effect of ribosomal protein L22-like 1 (RPL22L1) on the proliferation and apoptosis of CRC cells and its potential mechanism.
