We report about a boy with the symptoms of Gradenigo's syndrome (abducens nerve palsy, acute otitis media, unilateral headache). The MR imaging showed a sinus vein thrombosis instead of the expected petroapicitis. After 2 weeks of conservative therapy with antibiotics and anticoagulation, without any clinical effort the boy underwent a mastoidectomy. Headache and otitis media recovered quickly but the diplopia still remained after 25 months.

Background: Prenatal development of autonomic innervation of sinus venosus-related structures might be related to atrial arrhythmias later in life. Most of the pioneering studies providing embryological background are conducted in animal models. To date, a detailed comparison with the human cardiac autonomic nervous system (cANS) is lacking.

This case report discusses the management of a 75-year-old man who developed an unusual type of atypical atrial flutter following a previous pulmonary vein isolation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Despite a second attempt to re-isolate the pulmonary veins and performing cavotricuspid isthmus ablation (which was suspected to be part of the arrythmia circuit), the flutter continued and was converted to sinus rhythm through electrical cardioversion. A few weeks later, the patient's atrial tachycardia relapsed.

Background: Repair of the regurgitant bicuspid aortic valve is an attractive alternative to valve replacement. Although good long-term outcomes have been reported, postoperative aortic stenosis remains a major late cause of repair failure in bicuspid aortic valves. Sinus plication is effective for creating a more symmetrical commissural angle, leading to a decrease in the mean transvalvular pressure gradient.

Background And Purpose: Prolonged venous transit (PVT), derived from computed tomography perfusion (CTP) time-to-maximum (T) maps, reflects compromised venous outflow (VO) in acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO). Poor VO is associated with worse clinical outcomes, but pre-treatment markers predictive of PVT are not well described.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 189 patients with anterior circulation AIS-LVO who underwent baseline CT evaluation, including non-contrast CT, CT angiography, and CTP.

Background: Pregnancy-associated venous thromboembolism (PA-VTE) seriously threatens maternal health. We aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, risk factors, treatments, and pregnancy outcomes to better prevent and treat PA-VTE.
Methods: PA-VTE patients were selected from 171,898 women who were registered in the Department of Obstetrics of Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital from January 2014 to August 2023 and delivered to calculate the incidence.
