To assess the impact of state COVID-19 vaccine mandates for health care workers (HCWs) on health sector employment in the United States. Using monthly state-level employment data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages between January and October 2021, we employed a partially pooled synthetic control method that accounted for staggered mandate adoption and heterogeneous treatment effects. We conducted analyses separately for the 4 health care subsectors-ambulatory health care services, hospitals, nursing and residential care, and social assistance-with an additional analysis of 2 industry groups-skilled nursing care and community care for the elderly-under the nursing and residential care subsector.

Exit-site infections (ESIs) of peritoneal dialysis catheters can cause serious complications if not promptly treated. Uncommon pathogens like are infrequently associated with these infections. We report a 26-year-old woman with end-stage renal disease due to Alport syndrome, presenting with recurrent purulent discharge and erythema at the Tenckhoff catheter exit site.

The impact of protocol complexity often results in inadequate recruitment and insufficient sample sizes, which challenges validity and generalizability. Background And Objective: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global crisis, however, relatively little is known regarding its impact in chronic respiratory disease and the specific challenges faced by healthcare workers across the world in this field. We aimed to assess global healthcare worker views on the challenges they face regarding AMR in chronic respiratory disease.
Methods: An online survey was sent to healthcare workers globally working in chronic respiratory disease through a European Respiratory Society clinical research collaboration (AMR-Lung) focussed on AMR in chronic lung disease.
