The UV-vis spectra of peripherally substituted tetranitrometallophthalocyanines (TNMPcs) 1a-1d and non-peripherally substituted TNMPcs 2a-2d were investigated. In comparison of 1a with 2a, there is the only difference in the substitution position of nitro-groups. The structural diversity of 1a and 2a resulted in different electronic effects of nitro-group on Pc rings, which caused them have two kinds of Q bands. The Q band in the UV-vis spectra of 1a-1d was split into two peaks, which were obviously influenced by temperature, while no split was observed in the Q band of 2a-2d. We can draw a conclusion that tuning nitro-group electronic effect is an important approach for controlling the properties of Pcs.

Progress mechanism of humic acid (HA) interacting with chloronitrobenzenes (ClNBs) and affecting their reduction and degradation was investigated. A two-stage chamber with graphite felt as cathode and anode was constructed, and 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene (2,4-DCNB) was target pollutant. Result showed that HA increased 36.

The aqueous-phase conversion of phenolic compounds (PhCs) driven by nitrite photolysis has been recognized as a significant source of secondary brown carbon (BrC). However, the influence of pH on the conversion kinetics and product distribution of PhCs remains unclear. In this study, three representative PhCs with varying functional groups were selected to examine their aqueous-phase conversion kinetics in the presence of nitrite under different pH conditions and simulated sunlight conditions.

Bisphenol A (BPA), a pervasive endocrine disruptor, is known to cause significant developmental toxicity, particularly affecting craniofacial structures through oxidative stress and apoptosis. A novel furan hybrid chalcone derivative, 3-(2-hydroxy-5-nitrophenyl)-1-(5-methylfuran-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (DK04), specifically with a hydroxyl group for its antioxidant properties and a nitro group for enhanced electron-withdrawing ability, was evaluated for its potential to mitigate these toxic effects. Zebrafish embryos were exposed to BPA and co-treated with various concentrations of DK04.

The contamination of some metal ions in soil and water can cause oxidative stress to plants through several mechanisms such as generation of reactive oxygen species, which impair growth, development and productivity of crops. The oxidative stress in plants results in elevation in NO levels which can be adopted as a marker for tracking the stress. Herein we report a new approach for tracking oxidative stress induced by metal ions in plants by using a NIR-II fluorescence probe (Cy-TPE-NH).

Context: Based on the density functional theory (DFT), we analyzed the changes of the FOX-7 molecule under external electric field (EEF) from multiple perspectives, including molecular structure, electronic structure, decomposition mechanism, frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs), and density of states (DOS). The results revealed that as the intensity of the positive EEF increased, the detonation performance of the FOX-7 molecule was significantly enhanced, while its thermal stability was also improved. This discovery challenges the traditional concept that explosives are inherently dangerous under external electric fields and provides new insights for research in related fields.
