The Radial Distribution Function approach has been applied to the study of the A2 A adenosine receptors agonist effect of 29 adenosine analogues: N6- arylcarbamoyl, 2-arylalkynyl-N6 -arylcarbamoyl, and N6 -carboxamido derivatives. A model able to describe around 85% of the variance in the experimental activity was developed with the use of the mentioned approach. In contrast, no one of nine different approaches, including the use of Galvez Topological Charges indexes, BCUT, Geometrical, 2D autocorrelations, Topological, Randić Molecular profile, WHIM, 3D-MORSE and GETAWAY descriptors were able to explain more than 78% of the variance in the mentioned property with the same number of variables in the equation. Finally, the model support that the bulkiness and stereoselectivity play an important role in the affinity for this receptor in this kind of compounds.

In this paper, the focusing and tight-focusing properties of radially polarized (RP) Bessel-Gaussian (BG) rotationally-symmetric power-exponent-phase vortex beam (RPVBs) were investigated theoretically and experimentally. Based on the theory of vector beam, the propagation and tight-focusing models were derived to reveal the focusing and tight-focusing properties of the RP-BG-RPVBs by numerical simulation. Then, the experimental setup was established to validate that the RP-BG-RPVBs presented the fan-shaped and polycyclic intensity distribution, which possessed the features of RP beams, BG beams, and RPVBs, similarly.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are environmentally persistent contaminants that are often referred to as "Forever Chemicals". They are used in industrial and household products; however, they are resistant to degradation. Thus, PFAS contamination has become a wide-spread issue.

Background: Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) has been used in reconstructive microsurgery since the inception of the field. However, when compared to placebo groups, its efficacy is not confirmed. In our study, we hypothesize that the utility of ASA postoperatively in microvascular surgery is not associated with improved outcomes.

Super-Resolved Mapping of Electrochemical Reactivity in Single 3D Catalysts.

Nano Lett

January 2025

Institute of Nanochemistry and Nanobiology, School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Shanghai University, Shanghai 200444, P.R. China.

Crystals with three-dimensional (3D) stereoscopic structures, characterized by diverse shapes, crystallographic planes, and morphologies, represent a significant advancement in catalysis. Differentiating and quantifying the catalytic activity of specific surface facets and sites at the single-particle level is essential for understanding and predicting catalytic performance. This study employs super-resolution radial fluctuations electrogenerated chemiluminescence microscopy (SRRF-ECLM) to achieve high-resolution mapping of electrocatalytic activity on individual 3D CuO crystals, including cubic, octahedral, and truncated octahedral structures.
