Antagonistic effects of combination therapy using amphotericin B (AmB) with agents which block ergosterol synthesis are a concern. Terbinafine was evaluated with AmB to assess antagonism or synergy in a rabbit model of invasive aspergillosis. Terbinafine had relatively little activity but did not demonstrate antagonism against AmB in our model.

Purpose: Perfusion modeling presents significant opportunities for imaging biomarker development in breast cancer but has historically been held back by the need for data beyond the clinical standard of care (SoC) and uncertainty in the interpretability of results. We aimed to design a perfusion model applicable to breast cancer SoC dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) series with results stable to low temporal resolution imaging, comparable with published results using full-resolution DCE-MRI, and correlative with orthogonal imaging modalities indicative of biophysical markers.
Methods: Subsampled high-temporal-resolution DCE-MRI series were run through our perfusion model and resulting fits were compared for consistency.
Background: The adjunctive use of connective tissue grafts (CTGs) in the periodontal regeneration of intrabony defects has been proposed to prevent or limit postoperative gingival recession. However, there is limited evidence regarding the long-term clinical performance of this approach.
Methods: This article presents the five-year follow-up outcomes of a combination therapy using CTG, bone substitutes, and biologics for the treatment of deep intrabony defects associated with gingival recession.

Purpose: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by esophagectomy is the usual approach to manage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The optimal interval to operate after completion of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) still remains controversial.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted to observe and compare postoperative complications and pathological outcomes in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus who underwent NACRT followed by surgery within 8 weeks or after 8 weeks of NACRT completion.

Combination of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and heart failure (HF) results in extremely high morbidity and mortality. The current guideline-directed medical therapy is rarely effective and new therapeutic approaches are urgently needed. The study was designed to examine if renal denervation (RDN) will exhibit long-standing beneficial effects on the HF- and CKD-related morbidity and mortality.

The untimely passing of Dr. Mikhail "Misha" Blagosklonny has left a lasting void in geroscience and oncology. This review examines his profound contributions, focusing on his pioneering the Hyperfunction Theory and his advocacy for rapamycin, an mTOR inhibitor, as a therapeutic agent for lifespan extension.
