The case of a 14 year old girl is reported, referred to Child Psychiatry with tearfulness and possible auditory hallucinations. Closer questioning revealed a history of low energy, sleeping excessively without refreshment, exertional dyspnoea, and poor growth. Psychologically, there was no evidence of low mood or negative cognitions despite the inexplicable tearfulness. Detailed enquiry revealed the "hallucinations" to be "whooshing" noises in her ears precipitated by standing. She was found to have a haemoglobin level of 55 g/l, attributed to a combination of poor diet and menorrhagia.Periodic, anaemic, cerebral hypoxia could be proposed to be the root of most, if not all, of the symptoms, illustrating the importance of marrying physical and psychological history taking with suitable investigations for an eminently treatable condition.

Study Objectives: To collect prodromal symptoms experienced by participants with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (considered "hypersomnolence experts") prior to drowsy driving and counterstrategies used to maintain alertness.
Methods: Systematic, face-to-face interview (using a semi-structured questionnaire), including clinical measures, frequency of car accidents/near misses, and symptoms experienced before impending drowsy driving episodes and counterstrategies.
Results: Among 61 participants (32 with narcolepsy, 29 with idiopathic hypersomnia; 56 drivers), 61% of drivers had at least one lifetime accident/near miss.

Background: Quality of life (QOL) and treatment needs of patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and their caregivers are important factors to consider when developing treatment strategies.
Objective: To investigate factors associated with QOL in patients with DLB, and to examine factors associated with activities of daily living (ADL) if ADL was associated with QOL.
Methods: We previously conducted a questionnaire survey study to investigate the treatment needs of patients with DLB and their caregivers.

Aim: Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by Parkinsonism, supranuclear ophthalmoplegia, postural instability, and cognitive impairment.
Patients: This case series describes three patients initially diagnosed with late-life mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder) who were later diagnosed with PSP because of the development of typical neurological symptoms.
Result: The diagnostic challenge of PSP is highlighted in this case report, particularly in the early stages, when characteristic symptoms may not be present.

Seizure semiology and electroencephalograph (EEG) are very important for determining seizure type, hemisphere lateralization, or localization. Clinical symptoms of focal seizures, as well as findings at the onset or end of a focal to bilateral tonic-clonic seizure (FBTCS), are highly informative for lateralization. This study aimed to investigate the relationship of asymmetric last clonic jerk in patients with temporal or extratemporal lobe epilepsy with pathologies, localization, lateralization, or other semiological findings detected in neuroimaging or neuro psychometric tests and its positive predictive value for the detection of hemisphere lateralization based on seizure onset ictal EEG activation.
