Detectability of nondifferentiable generalized synchrony.

Generalized synchronization of chaos is a type of cooperative behavior in directionally coupled oscillators that is characterized by existence of stable and persistent functional dependence of response trajectories from the chaotic trajectory of driving oscillator. In many practical cases this function is nondifferentiable and has a very complex shape. The generalized synchrony in such cases seems to be undetectable, and only the cases in which a differentiable synchronization function exists are considered to make sense in practice. We show that this viewpoint is not always correct and the nondifferentiable generalized synchrony can be revealed in many practical cases. Conditions for detection of generalized synchrony are derived analytically, and illustrated numerically with a simple example of nondifferentiable generalized synchronization.

This study investigates how interpersonal (speaker-partner) synchrony contributes to empathetic response generation in communication scenarios. To perform this investigation, we propose a model that incorporates multimodal directional (positive and negative) interpersonal synchrony, operationalized using the cosine similarity measure, into empathetic response generation. We evaluate how incorporating specific synchrony affects the generated responses at the language and empathy levels.

Individuals with Prader Willi syndrome (PWS) often exhibit behavioral difficulties characterized by deficient impulse regulation and obsessive-compulsive features resembling those observed in obsessive-compulsive disorder. The genetic configuration of PWS aligns with molecular and neurophysiological findings suggesting dysfunction in the inhibitory gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) interneuron system may contribute to its clinical manifestation. In the cerebral cortex, this dysfunction is expressed as desynchronization of local neural activity.
