We present the first recording of the high-resolution spectrum of an induced chiral dimer. Three conformers of the induced chiral dimers of ethanol have been observed using a pulsed molecular-beam Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. The rotational constants of the normal isotopomers of the three species have been determined to be (a) A=5113.826(5), B=1329.7214(4), and C=1257.5151(3) MHz, (b) A=5086.459(5), B=1316.6508(4), and C=1243.6329(4) MHz, and (c) A=4851.608(5), B=1369.7558(6), and C=1243.4184(4) MHz. The observed species have been assigned to calculated structures via Kraitchman double substitution analyses and ab initio calculations. The Kraitchman analyses and the fitted centrifugal distortion parameters suggest that the deuterium bond is significantly stronger than the hydrogen bond in the dimers of ethanol.

Manipulating elastic waves in lower-dimensional mechanical metamaterials has attracted much attention since it lays the foundation for the design of various elastic functional devices, especially for on-chip size. However, due to the experimental challenges, it is very difficult to control elastic waves in higher dimensions. In this Letter, we introduce an extra structural parameter to synthesize and investigate the on-chip Weyl physics in silicon-on-insulator system.

The chiral lattice structure of twisted bilayer graphene with D_{6} symmetry allows for intrinsic photogalvanic effects only at off-normal incidence, while additional extrinsic effects are known to be induced by a substrate or a gate potential. In this Letter, we first compute the intrinsic effects and show they reverse sign at the magic angle, revealing a band inversion at the Γ point. We next consider different extrinsic effects, showing how they can be used to track the strengths of the substrate coupling or electric displacement field.

Recent studies have attracted widespread attention on magnet-superconductor hybrid systems with emergent topological superconductivity. Here, we present the Floquet engineering of realistic two-dimensional topological nodal-point superconductors that are composed of antiferromagnetic monolayers in proximity to an s-wave superconductor. We show that Floquet chiral topological superconductivity arises due to light-induced breaking of the effective time-reversal symmetry.

We propose a mechanism to obtain chiral phononlike excitations from the bond-dependent magnetoelastic couplings in the absence of out-of-plane magnetization and magnetic fields. By mapping the hybrid excitation to its phononic analog, we reveal the impact of the lattice symmetry on the origin of the chirality. In the example of a triangular lattice ferromagnet, we recognize that the system is equivalent to the class D of topological phonons, and show the tunable chirality and topology by an in-plane magnetic field.

The preparation of single-crystal polymers with circularly polarized luminesce (CPL) remains a challenging task in chemistry and materials science. Herein, we present the single-crystal-to-single-crystal topochemical photopolymerization of a chiral organic salt to achieve this goal. The in-situ reaction of 1,4-bis((E)-2-(pyridin-4-yl)vinyl)benzene (1) with chiral (+)- or (-)-camphorsulfonic acid (CSA) gives the monomer crystal 1[( + )/( - )-CSA] showing yellow CPL with a high luminescent dissymmetry factor |g| of 0.
