Introduction: This article deals with an empirical study on the use of clinical photos as part of the information/communication between health professionals and patients. Normally the verbal method is used to provide information to patients. The hypothesis is that figurative and illustrative material can be a useful supplement to the spoken word. The study focused on patients' experience of looking at clinical photos.

Materials And Methods: The research was conducted in the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burn Care, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark. The study was a quality, explorative and descriptive interview research including 10 patients.

Results: This study shows that patients find it positive to look at clinical photos, because it gives them knowledge and understanding, as well as realistic expectations and a sense of security in having made the right decision. The photographs help confirm or invalidate their expectations. The combination of listening to verbal information and looking at pictures makes sense to the patient.

Discussion: This study shows that looking at clinical photos is one way to improve the information/communication between patient and health professionals. Clinical photos contribute to the emotional and bodily part of gaining knowledge and thereby complement the verbal information, which is primarily cognitive. The study shows that patients experience photos as a positive element in their treatment and demonstrates that photos give them an answer to how they will appear after surgery, which is difficult to describe in words. In this study age, sex and diagnosis did not seem to matter for the experiences of the patients.

Background: Minimally invasive dentistry is now becoming the forefront of restorative dentistry, involving less traumatic treatment protocols, conservation of tooth structure and surrounding tissues, enhancing the long-term survivability of treated teeth, and improving the overall quality of life for patients.

Objective: The current case report was conducted to evaluate acquiring deep subgingival interproximal carious lesions by the mean of thermacut bur gingivectomy, in terms of patient satisfaction through pain evaluation, Bleeding on Probing, Pocket Depth, Crestal Bone Level evaluation, and restoration evaluation using modified USPHS criteria.

Material And Methods: A patient with a deep proximal cavity in the posterior tooth was thoroughly examined and underwent Thermacut Bur Gingivectomy (TBG) after caries removal followed by direct resin composite restoration of the prepared cavity.

Vitamin A and its primary active derivative, all-trans retinoic acid (RA), are endogenous signaling molecules essential for numerous biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and immune modulation. Owing to its differentiation-inducing effect, RA was the first differentiating agent approved for the clinical treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. While the classical mechanisms of RA signaling involve nuclear receptors, such as retinoic acid receptors (RARs), emerging evidence suggests that RA also engages in non-covalent and covalent interactions with a broader range of proteins.

Periodontal disease stands the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. While scaling and root planning is considered the "gold standard" treatment, it is often insufficient in efficiently eliminating anaerobic bacteria from deep periodontal pockets. In this work, an antibiotic-free and photo-curing hyaluronic acid-Janus (H-Janus) antibacterial pack was developed to inhibit the growth and colonization of residual bacteria within the pockets for reducing the recurrence of periodontitis.
