Background: The Medication Review in Cognitive Impairment and Dementia (MedRevCiD) checklist is a new tool designed to assist health care professionals in optimizing medication use in individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or dementia. It consists of 6 domains, each of which addresses a specific medication use issue such as medication management and adherence. Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a high-mortality lung disease with limited treatment options, highlighting the need for new therapies. Cyclin-dependent kinase 8 (CDK8) is a promising target due to its role in regulating transcription via the TGF-β/Smad pathway, though CDK8 inhibitors have not been thoroughly studied for PF. This study aims to evaluate the potential of E966-0530-45418, a novel CDK8 inhibitor, in mitigating PF progression and explores its underlying mechanisms.

Background/aims: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) management guidelines have increasingly emphasised the importance of exacerbation prevention, and the role of blood eosinophil count (BEC) as a biomarker for inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) response. This study aimed to describe the distribution and stability of BEC and understand real-world treatment patterns among COPD patients in South Korea.
Methods: This was a retrospective database analysis using data obtained from the KOrea COPD Subgroup Study (KOCOSS) registry between January 2012 and August 2018.

Agriculture dust contains many organic immunogenic compounds, and organic dust exposure is strongly associated with the development of immune-mediated chronic pulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Chronic organic dust exposure from agriculture sources induces chronic lung inflammatory diseases and organic dust exposure has recently been linked to an increased risk of developing dementia. The cytokine interleukin-22 (IL-22) has been established as an important mediator in the resolution and repair of lung tissues.

Background: During the pandemic, there was concern that underascertainment of COVID-19 outcomes may impact treatment effect estimation in pharmacoepidemiologic studies. We assessed the impact of outcome misclassification on the association between inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and COVID-19 hospitalisation and death in the United Kingdom during the first pandemic wave using probabilistic bias analysis (PBA).
Methods: Using data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink Aurum, we defined a cohort with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on 1 March 2020.
