Introduction: Many factors contribute to the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), an umbrella term for several different heart diseases, including inflammation. Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is an important immune modulator that has been shown to be involved in the pathogenesis of different heart diseases, so understanding pathogenic variants of the gene is important for risk stratification. We therefore conducted a meta-analysis to investigate whether the -173G/C (rs755622) polymorphism is associated with CVD.

The most important complication of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is secondary amyloidosis. The aim of this study is to investigate the risk of developing FMF-related amyloidosis with macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), interleukin 4 (IL-4), and IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) variants. This study included 62 FMF patients with amyloidosis, 110 FMF patients without amyloidosis, and 120 controls.

Background The association between macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF)-173G/C polymorphism and psoriasis risk has been reported in several studies with inconsistent conclusions. Aims This study aims to obtain a more convincing estimate of the relationship between the MIF-173G/C polymorphism and psoriasis risk. Methods Web of Science, EMBASE, PubMed, Wan Fang Database and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) were searched up to September 2021 and eligible studies were collected.

This study was designed to evaluate the association between macrophage migration inhibitory factor () gene polymorphisms, serum MIF levels and tuberculosis (TB) susceptibility. All satisfactory studies were included; the genotype number and serum MIF levels were reviewed. The Stata and Review Manager software were used for the pooled analyses.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the association of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the macrophage migration inhibiting factor (), interferon-induced Helicase C domain 1 (), interleukin-6 () genes, circulating levels with non-segmental vitiligo (NSV) susceptibility in the Chinese population, and to analyze the relationships between gene polymorphisms and clinical characteristics of vitiligo.
Methods: In this study, genotyping was conducted in 155 patients with NSV and 117 unaffected controls using polymerase chain reaction and snapshot technique. Serum concentrations were determined by ELISA kit.
