Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Spanish translation of the Delirium Rating Scale-Revised-98 (DRS-R-98).

Methods: Thirty patients diagnosed of delirium (DSM-IV) by a variety of general hospital medical wards criteria were assessed using the DRS-R-98, MiniMental State Examination (MMSE), Mini Examen Cognoscitivo (MEC; Spanish version of the MMSE) and the Orientation Scale (OS). Independent ratings between two psychiatrists were used to calculate intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) for interrater reliability.

Results: The DRS-R-98 had high interrater reliability for both total and severity scale scores (ICC=.96 for each). The DRS-R-98 severity score significantly correlated (P<.001) with MMSE (r=-.67), MEC (r=-.62) and OS (r=.73). Cronbach's alpha (r=.78 ) indicated high internal consistency of the DRS-R-98.

Conclusion: The Spanish translation of the DRS-R-98 has high interrater reliability for both total and severity scale scores, high internal consistency, and very good concurrent validity in relation to other cognitive measures and therefore can be administered to delirious patients.

Introduction: Obesity and its complications are associated with high morbidity/mortality and a significant healthcare cost burden in Spain. It is therefore essential to know the potential clinical and economic benefits of reducing obesity. The objective of this study is to predict the decrease in rates of onset of potential complications associated with obesity and the cost savings after a weight loss of 15% over 10 years in Spain.

The incidence of type 2 diabetes has risen globally, in parallel with the obesity epidemic and environments promoting a sedentary lifestyle and low-quality diet. There has been scrutiny of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) as a driver of type 2 diabetes, underscored by their increasing availability and intake worldwide, across countries of all incomes. This narrative review addresses the accumulated evidence from investigations of the trends in UPF consumption and the relationship with type 2 diabetes incidence.

Aim: The use of oral anticoagulants has increased due to the rising prevalence of auricular fibrillation, a condition that raises the risk of thromboembolic events. These drugs are effective in preventing such events, but their success depends on therapeutic adherence, which requires validated tools for assessment. The aim of this study is to evaluate the suitability of the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire in its adapted version for the Spanish population.

Background: Shared decision-making (SDM) is a crucial aspect of patient-centered care. While several SDM training programs for health care professionals have been developed, evaluation of their effectiveness is scarce, especially in mental health disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder.

Objective: This study aims to assess the feasibility and impact of a brief training program on the attitudes toward SDM among primary care professionals who attend to patients with generalized anxiety disorder.
