We investigate the asymptotic decay of the total correlation function h (1,2) in molecular fluids. To this end, we expand the angular dependence of h (1,2) and the direct correlation function c (1,2) in the Ornstein-Zernike equation in a complete set of rotational invariants. We show that all the harmonic expansion coefficients h l1l2l) (r) are governed by a common exponential decay length and a common wavelength of oscillations in the isotropic phase. We determine the asymptotic decay of the total correlation functions by investigating the pole structure of the reciprocal ( q -space) harmonic expansion coefficients h l1l2l) (q) . The expansion coefficients in laboratory frame of reference h l1l2l) (r) are calculated in computer simulations for an isotropic fluid of hard spherocylinders. We find that the asymptotic decay of h (1,2) is exponentially damped oscillatory for hard spherocylinders with a length-to-diameter ratio L/D< or =10 for all statepoints in the isotropic fluid phase. We compare our results on the pole structure using different theoretical Ansätze for c (1,2) for hard ellipsoids. The theoretical results show that the asymptotic decay of h (1,2) is exponentially damped oscillatory for all elongations of the ellipsoids.

The isotropic Cauchy distribution is a member of the central α-stable family that plays a role in the set of heavy-tailed distributions similar to that of the Gaussian density among finite second-moment laws. Given a sequence of observations, we are interested in characterizing the performance of Likelihood Ratio Tests, where two hypotheses are plausible for the observed quantities: either isotropic Cauchy or isotropic Gaussian. Under various setups, we show that the probability of error of such detectors is not always exponentially decaying with , with the leading term in the exponent shown to be logarithmic instead, and we determine the constants in that leading term.

Background And Objective: Cancer's complex and multifaceted nature makes it challenging to identify unique molecular and pathophysiological signatures, thereby hindering the development of effective therapies. This paper presents a novel fractal-fractional cancer model to study the complex interplay among stem cells, effectors cells, and tumor cells in the presence and absence of chemotherapy. The cancer model with effective treatment through chemotherapy drugs is considered and discussed in detail.

The achievable spatial resolution of C metabolic images acquired with hyperpolarized C-pyruvate is worse than H images typically by an order of magnitude due to the rapidly decaying hyperpolarized signals and the low gyromagnetic ratio of C. This study is to develop and characterize a volumetric patch-based super-resolution reconstruction algorithm that enhances spatial resolution C cardiac MRI by utilizing structural information from H MRI. The reconstruction procedure comprises anatomical segmentation from high-resolution H MRI, calculation of a patch-based weight matrix, and iterative reconstruction of high-resolution multi-slice C MRI.

This study constructs virtual vector triangles in multidimensional space to address cooperative control issue in time-varying nonlinear multi-agent systems. The distributed adaptive virtual point and its dynamic equations are designed, with this virtual point, the leader, and the follower being respectively defined as the vertices of the virtual vector triangle. The virtual vector edges, decomposed by vectors into coordinate axis components, are organized to form a closed virtual vector triangle by connecting the three vertices with directed vector arrows that are oriented from the tail to the head.

We present an inference scheme of long timescale, non-exponential kinetics from molecular dynamics simulations accelerated by stochastic resetting. Standard simulations provide valuable insight into chemical processes but are limited to timescales shorter than ∼1μs. Slower processes require the use of enhanced sampling methods to expedite them and inference schemes to obtain the unbiased kinetics.
