The purposes of this study were (1) to identify the prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) for Korean women, (2) to evaluate the LUTS scores of the subjects in relation with each UI patterns and general characteristics, and (3) to identify affecting factors developing LUTS by using self-administered questionnaire. Community-based cross-sectional study was conducted for 3,371 women aged 30 to 89 years old who were allocated at six provinces in South Korea. UI and LUTS were assessed by validated symptom scales including the International Prostate Symptom Score. Of all the respondents, 63.4% had experienced UI more than once a month during the prior 12 months. Among the respondents, 36.6% had no UI, 47.5% had stress UI, 0.4% had urge UI, and 15.5% had mixed UI. The mean LUTS score of the total respondents was 7.8 +/- 4.1. The LUTS was significantly predicted by age (p < .0001) and mixed UI (p < .0001), and 79.4% of variance in LUTS was explained. The highest LUTS scores were shown in the subjects with mixed UI, and we found that LUTS scores increased with age.

Objective: To assess the available evidence of non-invasive or minimally invasive neuromodulation therapies in improving urodynamic outcomes, voiding diaries, and quality of life in patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) after spinal cord injury (SCI).
Data Sources: A comprehensive search of 10 databases from inception until August 30, 2023 was conducted.
Study Selection: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the effects of conventional treatment (CT) and CT combined with sham stimulation (SS), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), sacral nerve magnetic stimulation (SNMS), TMS+SNMS, sacral pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (SPEMFT), sacral transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (STENS), sacral dermatomal transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (SDTENS), bladder & sacral transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (B&STENS), transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS), transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS), pelvic floor electrical stimulation (PFES), or pelvic floor biofeedback therapy (PFBFBT) on postvoid residual volume (PVR), maximum cystometric capacity (MCC), number of voids per 24 h (V24), mean urine volume per micturition, (MUV), maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), maximum detrusor pressure (MDP), maximum voiding volume (MVV), number of leakages per 24 h (L24), lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) score, and spinal cord injury-quality of life (SCI-QoL)score in patients with NLUTD after SCI were included.

Since contact laser vaporization of the prostate (CVP) was approved by the Japanese insurance system in 2016, the use of a 980 nm diode laser system for CVP has become widespread for treating benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) patients. Our institute has been implementing CVP for BPH since 2018, treating a total of 93 patients, including 28 with a risk of hemorrhage. This study examines the safety and efficacy of CVP treatment for BPH patients with a hemorrhagic risk.

Introduction: Adverse events, such as erectile dysfunction (ED) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), are significant concerns in prostate cancer (PCa) patients treated with Iodine 125 (I-125) low-dose rate (LDR) prostate brachytherapy (PB). Alpha antagonists and phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors are used to manage these events. The present study compared the efficacy of low-dose tadalafil with that of tamsulosin for concomitant ED and LUTS in PCa patients treated with I-125 LDR PB.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to compare patient-reported outcomes of minimally invasive treatments for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), namely, transurethral water vapor therapy (Rezum) and prostatic urethral lift (UroLift), due to the lack of direct comparison in the existing literature. Methods A retrospective single-institution study was conducted comparing Rezum and UroLift procedures performed by three surgeons between January 2019 and June 2022. The difference in American Urological Association Symptom Scores (AUA SS) was the primary outcome measure.

Background: The equivalence between left upper lobectomy (LUL) and left upper tri-segmentectomy (LUTS) for stage I left upper non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unclear. This study compares the perioperative and oncological outcomes of LUL and LUTS in this patient population.
Methods: This study included patients who underwent LUL or LUTS at West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Sichuan ShangJin Hospital between August 2018 and November 2023.
