Normally ovulating women have been found to report greater sexual attraction to men other than their own partners when near ovulation relative to the luteal phase. One interpretation is that women possess adaptations to be attracted to men possessing (ancestral) markers of genetic fitness when near ovulation, which implies that women's interests should depend on qualities of her partner. In a sample of 54 couples, we found that women whose partners had high developmental instability (high fluctuating asymmetry) had greater attraction to men other than their partners, and less attraction to their own partners, when fertile.

Introduction: Data regarding the incidence and outcomes of mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) rectal cancer is limited. This study characterizes dMMR rectal cancer patients, comparing response after neoadjuvant radiotherapy and oncological outcomes to mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) rectal cancer patients.
Method: A retrospective cross-sectional cohort study was conducted in 67 Dutch centers.

As more neonatal centers are caring for premature infants at 21-23 weeks' gestational age (GA), a growing need for improved practices related to routine skin care exists. Approach to skin care in this GA is challenging because the skin barrier is not completely formed at this developmental stage, leading to an increased risk of insensible water loss; increased sodium and nutritional requirement; and greater susceptibility to injury, infection, and temperature instability. Effective skin care in this population requires a proactive, standardized, multidisciplinary approach.

Growth-associated protein 43 (GAP43) is a membrane-associated phosphoprotein predominantly expressed in the nervous systems, and controls axonal growth, branching, and pathfinding. While the association between GAP43 and human neurological disorders have been reported, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. We performed whole exome sequencing on a patient with intellectual disability (ID), neurodevelopmental disorders, short stature, and skeletal abnormalities such as left-right difference in legs and digital deformities, and identified a heterozygous missense variation in the GAP43 gene [NM_001130064.

Background: Total hip arthroplasty is the preferred treatment for advanced hip osteoarthritis, yet complications like hip dislocation (0.2 %-10 %) persist due to factors such as implant design, positioning, surgical technique, and patient-specific conditions. Impingement between prosthetic components or the acetabulum and proximal femur is a primary cause of instability.
