Introduction: Adequate antipsychotic treatment intensity is required before diagnosing resistant schizophrenia and initiating clozapine treatment. We aimed to investigate potential rapid drug metabolism underlying low dose-adjusted serum concentration (CD) of non-clozapine atypical antipsychotics preceding clozapine treatment.

Methods: Patients using non-clozapine, atypical antipsychotics (aripiprazole, risperidone, olanzapine, or quetiapine) within 1 year before starting clozapine were included in this study from a therapeutic drug monitoring service in Oslo, Norway, between 2005 and 2023.

Aim: To conduct a routine therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and analyze its results for the optimization of pharmacotherapy.

Material And Methods: Fifty-six inpatients (in total 68 samples) with various forms of schizophrenia were enrolled. High performance liquid chromatography with mass-spectrometric detection was used for quantitative determination of risperidone and 9-hydroxyrisperidone in the serum.

Background And Objective: In this study, turbo-ion spray as an interface of tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) was performed for sensitive and accurate quantification of chlorpromazine, haloperidol, levomepromazine, olanzapine, risperidone, and sulpiride in plasma samples.

Methods: Separation was performed by gradient reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography using a mobile phase containing ammonium formiate 2 mM, pH 2.7, and acetonitrile flowing through a Restek PFP Propyl C18 analytical column (50 mm×2.

Purpose: The present study aimed to assess the level of agreement between clinicians' routine assessments of medication status and plasma levels of commonly prescribed antipsychotic medications in patients presenting to an emergency room with an exacerbation of psychosis.

Methods: We studied 105 patients presenting to an emergency room and admitted to an inpatient psychiatric unit with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, or psychotic disorder not otherwise specified and a prior outpatient medication regimen including risperidone, olanzapine, quetiapine, aripiprazole, or paliperidone. Plasma levels of antipsychotics were drawn and sent to a specialty laboratory for testing.

The management for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) involves chronic administration of drugs. We have modified the stress re-stress (SRS) model to study the effect of chronic administration of risperidone (RIS) after induction of PTSD in rats. On day-1 (D-1) rats underwent training session for elevated-plus maze (EPM) test.
