Background: Massive edema of the ovary is a rare entity affecting mainly young women. It is often misdiagnosed for a malignancy, posing the young patient at risk for over-treatment with resultant loss of hormonal function and fertility.
Case: A 13-year-old premenarchal girl presented with a large solid pelvic mass after recurrent episodes of self-limited abdominal pain. With a working diagnosis of malignant ovarian tumor, an exploratory laparotomy was done in which a twisted ovarian mass was found and excised completely. Pathological examination of the mass revealed massive edema of the ovary with hemorrhagic necrosis.
Conclusion: After extensive review of the literature, it seems most cases were over-treated, as was ours. This entity should be suspected in women at the fertile age range with solid enlargement of the ovary and definite treatment should be undertaken only after confirmed pathological diagnosis. Conservative treatment is feasible and should be the rule in these cases, where fertility preservation is mandatory.

Introduction: Renuvion was the first FDA approved helium plasma device utilized for subdermal tissue heating to reduce skin laxity. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate that the use of Renuvion improves the outcomes, skin quality and reduces the edema faster after lipoabdominoplasty.
Materials And Methods: Patients with abdominal skin laxity after a weight loss of at least 20 kg, nonsmokers, without major comorbidities, with a minimum 2-year follow-up and standardized pre- and postoperative photographs were included in this study.

Central venous occlusions are common in the population of dialysis patients and develop as a result of arteriovenous access. Whereas these patients most commonly present with edema and varicosities, a rare presentation is esophageal varices. Here we present the case of a young man with life-threatening esophageal hemorrhage as a result of central venous occlusions, successfully treated with an azygos vein to right atrial bypass.

The main goal of the current study is to estimate the in vivo anti-inflammatory/antioxidant ability of four selected pharmaceutical compounds: bisoprolol (Biso), piracetam (Pirc), clopidogrel (Clop), and cinnarizine (Cinna). Indomethacin (Indo) was used as a reference drug to perform a realistic comparison between the four compounds and the Indo in vivo through tracking PI3K/AKT signaling and computational chemistry via density functional theory (DFT) modeling to analyze the electrostatic potential across the molecule and provide insight into the regions for receptor binding of the studied compounds. To achieve the safe dose of these compounds, cytotoxicity was performed against isolated adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) using MTT assay.
